What is it?
A talking therapy offers a space to speak about the difficulties you are facing. There may be something very specific you are wanting to address, such as the experience of repetitive patterns, or of feelings of insecurity, or a loss. It could otherwise be a more diffuse sense of suffering that leaves you feeling anxious or stuck. Whatever the reason, there is an invitation to speak in a judgement-free and confidential setting.
Listening carefully to the particular way in which you are struggling, and recognising that there is something of value beyond quick-fixes or ready made-solutions, I offer a space where this can be given voice to and articulated further in relation to your personal history.
By exploring different aspects of your experience - be they memories, doubts, dreams, desires - clues can be found as to the sources of your suffering, and to what change might be possible. This is the approach I take working in a psychoanalytic orientation, with the view that the things we struggle with are often shaped by thoughts and ideals of which we are not necessarily aware, but which may yet impact us throughout our lives. The significance of the role of the unconscious in shaping our lives, in this sense, informs my practice.
The therapist
Alongside private practice, I’m an honorary therapist at the City and Guilds of London Art School, and at the Strides Highbury Counselling Centre. My clinical practice is influenced by Lacanian psychoanalysis, and I continue my clinical training at the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research (CFAR), a UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) registered institution. I abide by CFAR’s and the UKCP’s Codes of Ethics and Practice.
Sessions are offered both in English and Italian. Remote sessions over the phone or via video call can also be arranged.

Fees, frequency, and other details
Initially, weekly meetings are suggested, though this could increase depending on what is being explored in our work. It may be of benefit to have more frequent sessions, such as twice a week, but this is not something prescriptive and would be related to the place the therapy has for you. Equally, the duration of a therapy is considered to be open-ended and relative to what is being explored in the sessions.
Sessions would normally last between 40-50 minutes. The reason for variability of a session’s length is that pausing when something meaningful has been addressed can be of greater value to you than always ending the session at a fixed time.
Fees are £60 per session. Some spaces are available, normally for those on a low income, for a fee that can be negotiated, according to the circumstances. If you are unable to afford the full fee, please mention this when getting in touch.
There is a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you are unable to make an appointment, I will where possible try to rearrange this, but if this can’t be done then the fee would be due.
My main practice is in Central London / West End (WC2N) a short distance from Leicester Square and Charing Cross stations. I also practice in Finsbury Park (N7).
